Many PROs still use the Canon 5D Mark 3 and some even the 5D Mark 2. These are still excellent cameras. The 5D Mark 4 is still enough for the most demanding professional work and it will stay that Interestingly the manual for the 5D Mark II suggests that full 21 megapixel mode on the Mark II can be used for "A2 or larger" prints, whilst 9.9 megapixel SRAW1 mode is good for "around A3" and 5.2 megapixel SRAW2 mode "around A4."

The 5D Mark IV felt like a nice bump for me from my Canon 6D. The 5D Mark IV would be a massive upgrade for anyone who has an older camera. This is an expensive camera, which is the only thing I would have reservations about when buying it.
