1: Disconnect the fuel return line, its a quick release coupling, just puss the two sides inward and gently pull. 2: Remove the 2 screws on top of the fuelfilter and remove the shield. 3: Disconnect the fuel filter to fuelpump line, again, a quick coupling. 4: Disconnect the fuel supply line at the back of the filterhousing, it's a bit hidden
Mk4 MONDEO DIESEL FUEL FILTER CHANGE Rev. 1. GENERAL: Aeration of the fuel system is avoided using this procedure. Bleeding the system should not be necessary, just priming the filter. The fuel line quick release connectors have 'o' rings inside so are liable to be damaged if appropriate plugs are not used.
A few things done over the past few months: - New fuel filter and seals last week - much better and actually starts now. - New glow plugs fitted about a month ago - same after this. - Starting motor changed for a different motor about 2 months ago - not new, but a pre-loved one. - Hose from the fuel filter housing replaced about 2 months agoHi everyone, I have a 200 bhp Ford mondeo mk4 2.2 tdci from 2011, have had it for about 3 years and just replaced the fuel pump recently after I couldn’t start it anymore.
Conclusion: lousy design cannot believe the badly located pollen filter on the mark 4 mondeo. I also believe with many comments posted, that dealers will not replace the pollen filter- or if they do they'll charge two hours labour (as a default position). Potentially £8 parts + £160 labour crazy! at Ford main dealer.
